Nagarkot Sunrise View Hike

Introduction
The Nagarkot Sunrise View Hike is a medium level hike famous among trekkers whose final destination is the Himalayas. This hike assists these trekkers in the acclimatization process. The Nagarkot Sunrise Hike is also suitable for those hikers who want a simple and gentle walk without much effort. During this hike, we climb the altitude of 2200 meters.

Hiking Trail
We begin our 3 hours hike with an ascent to the Nagarkot View Tower, also known as 360 View Tower. This is the highest point in Nagarkot which is the perfect position to view the dense forests located in the east and south, the Himalayas located in the north, and Kathmandu Valley located in the west. The tower adds an elevation of 200m which provides a 360-degree panoramic view of the majestic Himalayas. If the weather is clear, we can spot 5 of the 8 tallest mountains in Nepal, including numerous mountains that reach 6000m to 7000m. Next, we move uphill from the tower to the market which is at a distance of 4 km. After a walk along the trail surrounded the green scenery, we pass from a military camp.
Moving forward, we come across a jungle filled with pine. If lucky, we can enjoy bird watching for a while. The jungle houses a Buddhist monastery that is utilized for retreats. However, we need permission to enter this monastery. We then reach the end of the jungle and are presented with diverging paths. We follow the straight path that leads us to the Ganesh Temple and takes a turn to the left. This brings us to Thakuri Gaun (village) and Gurung Gaun which provide an unparalleled view of the valleys, dense jungles, snow-covered Himalayas, and hills. After passing through these villages, we return to the town.
